Dr Anthony Ryan is an Intensive Care Specialist practicing at the Intensive Care Unit at Mater Private Hospital Brisbane.

Dr Ryan completed a PhD in infectious diseases and immunology at the University of Sydney, followed by medical training at the University of Notre Dame in Sydney.

He is a fellow of the College of Intensive Care Medicine(FCICM) of Australia and New Zealand.

Dr Ryan has trained in intensive care across New South Wales, the Northern Territory and Queensland, affording him a diverse array of clinical experience.

Before starting as a Consultant Intensivist with Mater, he completed a fellowship year with Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) in Brisbane on the High-Acuity Response Unit (HARU).

Dr Ryan continues his involvement with QAS by providing education to the critical care paramedic training program.

He is currently completing a fellowship in simulation-based education at Mater Hospital Brisbane and has developed an innovative program called SIMtensive care to improve patient outcomes.
