Biography

Dr Babatunde Salman is an orthopaedic surgeon who specialises in adult hip, knee, shoulder and sport orthopaedic surgery. He has been practising as an orthopaedic surgeon since 2009 and has been mentored by world renowned surgeons.

Obtaining his degree from The University of Lagos, Nigeria in 1992, he undertook his surgical training in South Africa from 1995 to 2000.

After migrating to Australia in 2001, he completed his training through the National Orthopaedic Surgical Training Program in NSW, with clinical postings in Sydney and regional NSW.

Dr Salman has worked in several hospitals in Sydney and Wollongong as an orthopaedic service registrar. In 2005, he was selected for the Australian Advanced Orthopaedic Surgical training program and was awarded his fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2009. He undertook post-fellowship training in Brisbane and internationally in Belgium, UK and USA.

He commenced private orthopaedic surgical practice at Mater Private Hospital Mackay in April 2009. He was also a visiting orthopaedic surgeon at Mackay Base Hospital from 2009 to 2012.
Dr Salman is actively involved in continuous medical education programs.
