Dr Brendan Bell

Biography

Dr Brendan Bell is an experienced and innovative interventional cardiologist and transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) proceduralist at Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton. 

TAVI is a minimally invasive procedure where a new valve is inserted into the heart to treat aortic stenosis. 

Dr Bell is the founding partner of CardioVascular Clinics (CVC), providing comprehensive cardiac care at Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton. 

He holds a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from The University of Queensland, winning the University Medal and Lillian Cooper Prize for Dux of Medicine in 2001. 

Dr Bell completed his basic medical training at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane and The Alfred Hospital in Melbourne. He completed his specialist cardiology training at Prince Charles Hospital. 

He completed a fellowship in interventional cardiology at Prince Charles Hospital and a fellowship in interventional coronary and peripheral endovascular cardiology at the Lahey Clinic in Boston in the United States. 

Dr Bell also participated in Project Pacer International, providing voluntary cardiac care in Ethiopia. 

He remains active in medical research, presenting live interventional cases for local and international conferences and publishing numerous articles on interventional cardiology. 

Dr Bell is a senior lecturer at The University of Queensland and is committed to educating medical students and physician trainees.
