Biography

Dr Oosthuizen is a distinguished ENT and Rhinoplasty Surgeon with over a decade of local and international experience, consulting at Mater Private Hospital Springfield.

Dr Oosthuizen qualified from Stellenbosch University, South Africa, in 2005 and trained across South Africa, Ireland and Australia. He holds fellowships from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, and a Masters in advanced surgical practice (Cardiff University).

He completed advanced training in rhinology and anterior skull base surgery at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, developing extensive expertise across the full spectrum of nasal and sinus disorders and refining his skills in functional rhinoplasty — with hands-on experience in both complex and routine procedures that restore the form and function of the nose. He is Director of Form & Function Rhinoplasty and Sinus Surgery.

A Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland, Dr Oosthuizen takes a practical approach to teaching medical students and is actively involved in training and supervising junior doctors and registrars. His research is widely published, including in The Lancet, and he has presented his work at national and international conferences.
