Biography
Dr Chung Won is a General Surgeon with sub-specialty interest in Upper GI surgery and Bariatric Surgery.
Originally from South Korea, Dr Won grew up in Sydney where he attended school and university, graduating from University of New South Wales. After numerous years working in Sydney, Dr Won entered formal surgical training in Queensland, based out of Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital.
Dr Won completed his specialist surgical training and obtained Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in General Surgery in 2009. Dr Won spent further 3 years in post-fellowship training posts in Upper GI/ Hepatobiliary/ Bariatric Surgery at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, Concord Hospital in Sydney and at St Vincent’s Hospital in Melbourne.
Dr Won has been working at Princess Alexandra Hospital since his return to Brisbane in 2012. He also visits QE2 Jubilee Hospital. Dr Won performs private work at Mater Private Hospital Springfield.
