Dr Darren Tite was the first dual-qualified (medicine and dentistry) oral and maxillofacial consultant on the Gold Coast. In 2001, his role as Clinical Director of Surgery (OMS) was integral to the establishment of a long overdue comprehensive oral and maxillofacial surgery service on the Gold Coast. 

Dr Tite has more than 15 years of specialist surgical practice experience on the Gold Coast and performed a number of local surgical firsts, including the first facial reconstructive procedure using 3D custom guides, the first TMJ (jaw joint replacement), the first zygomatic (cheek bone) replacement and the first tooth transplant. 

Upon completion of his specialist dentistry training, Dr Tite completed a medical degree in order to provide a broader range of treatments beyond the confines of the mouth. 

Dr Tite is a surgical mentor and student supervisor, offering trainees exposure to advanced techniques such as rhinoplasty, skin cancer surgery and facial deformity surgery not offered in many parts of Australia.
