Biography

Dr Firas Al-Nidawi is a Consultant Neurologist with more than 20 years of clinical experience, consulting privately at Mater Private Hospital Townsville.

Dr Al-Nidawi specialises in the management of stroke, headaches, and chronic migraine, including the use of Botulinum Toxin therapy.

He graduated from Baghdad Medical College in 2002 and completed specialist training in Adult Neurology in 2012. With a strong interest in stroke medicine, he went on to earn a master’s degree in Stroke Medicine from Danube University in Austria.

After almost a decade of practice in Bahrain, he relocated to Australia, where he achieved Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in Neurology.

An active researcher, Dr Al-Nidawi has published widely on stroke treatment and prevention. He is committed to evidence-based care and plays an important role in medical education and the advancement of neurological services.

His patient-centred approach combines clinical expertise with empathy, ensuring the best possible outcomes for patients with complex neurological conditions.

Beyond his clinical practice, Dr Al-Nidawi is passionate about mentoring future neurologists and remains engaged with the latest developments in neuroscience.
