Biography

Dr Harrison Bennett is a Queensland-trained Ophthalmologist with international subspeciality expertise in retinal surgery with extensive experience in both cataract and retinal procedures, with a particular focus on complex cases and laser surgery.

Graduating with first class honours in Medicine and Surgery from The University of Queensland in 2014. Dr Bennett completed his ophthalmology training in Queensland and became a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO).

Dr Bennett was selected for the prestigious Vitreoretinal Fellowship at the University of British Columbia, Canada, and was awarded a RANZCO scholarship in recognition of his commitment to bringing global expertise back to Australia.

He is among a select group of Australian ophthalmologists to hold a Diploma in Retinal Surgery from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

In addition to his Australian qualifications Dr Bennett has completed clinical examinations with the International Council of Ophthalmology, lectured at national and international meetings and was awarded the distinguished International Ophthalmologist Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

He is a member of the American Society of Retina Specialists and the Australian and New Zealand Society of Retinal Specialists. 

Dr Bennett operates at Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton and provides cataract services through the Rockhampton Eye Centre.
