Dr Heshini De Silva is a highly qualified Specialist Pain Medicine Physician and Rehabilitation Physician with almost two decades of experience. She began her career as a senior clinical pharmacist in Australia and New Zealand before completing her medical education at the University of Wollongong.

Following her medical degree, Dr De Silva specialized in rehabilitation medicine through the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine at the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. Her extensive experience spans both public and private sectors, including renowned institutions such as the Spinal Injuries Unit, the Queensland Brain Injury Rehabilitation Service, and Gold Coast University Hospital, as well as Mater Private Hospital Gold Coast.

Dr De Silva also completed her Pain Medicine Fellowship with the Australia New Zealand College of Anaesthetists at the Metro South Pain Rehabilitation Centre and the Interdisciplinary Persistent Pain Service at Gold Coast Health. She now holds both public and private appointments in pain medicine and rehabilitation.

As a female specialist in pain medicine and rehabilitation on the Gold Coast, Dr. De Silva offers a unique combination of compassionate care, leveraging her expertise in pain medicine, rehabilitation, and pharmacology to achieve optimal outcomes for her patients. Whether addressing cancer pain, pelvic pain, musculoskeletal injuries, or complex neuropathic pain, she is dedicated to providing individualized support.

Dr De Silva collaborates closely with general practitioners and a multidisciplinary team of skilled health professionals—including physiotherapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, social workers, and speech therapists—to enhance the quality of life for patients recovering from injury or illness. She welcomes referrals for WorkCover, DVA, third-party, and self-funded patients.

Outside of her professional commitments, Heshini is a devoted mother who enjoys swimming and listening to music.
