Dr Jaewon Heo is an experienced qualified oral and maxillofacial surgeon currently
operating at Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton.

Born in South Korea and raised in Wellington, New Zealand, Dr Heo completed both
his medical and dental degrees at the University of Otago.

His early surgical experience spanned a range of specialties – including ear, nose
and throat (ENT), plastic surgery, and oral and maxillofacial surgery – giving him a
broad and in-depth understanding of facial anatomy and surgical techniques.

Dr Heo completed his specialist training in oral and maxillofacial surgery in
Melbourne. Committed to ongoing professional development, he pursued further
fellowship training in orthognathic surgery (corrective jaw surgery) and facial trauma
– areas which he is passionate about.
