Dr Jay Wiper

Skin cancer surgery, general plastic surgery, microsurgical
reconstructive procedures

Dr Jay Wiper is a specialist plastic and reconstructive surgeon offering expert
care in skin cancer management, general plastic surgery, and complex
microsurgical reconstruction.
Dr Wiper operates at Mater Mackay Private Hospital, with initial consultations
available via telehealth to support the needs of regional patients.
He graduated medicine from the University of Leeds, United Kingdom (UK), in
2001 and was appointed as a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Leeds Teaching
Hospitals NHS Trust in 2013. He led the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery
service at one of the largest Major Trauma Centres in the UK and served as an
Examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
Dr Wiper has completed two advanced microsurgical fellowships, including a
Head and Neck Fellowships, and holds full board specialist qualifications for
Plastic Surgery in both the UK and Australia. He is a member of Australian Plastic
Surgery Society (ASPS) and British Association of Plastic Reconstructive Surgeons
(BAPRAS).
He is the Director of the Plastic Surgery Unit and Consultant Plastic and
Reconstructive Surgeon in the Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane where he
leads the award-winning Skin Lesion and Assessment Management (SLAM)
service.
Dr Wiper frequently lectures nationally and internationally on reconstructive
techniques and is committed to training the next generation of surgeons. He
currently serves as the RACS SET Supervisor at Princess Alexandra Hospital.
He offers a patient-centred approach and dedication to delivering high-quality,
timely care tailored to everyone’s needs.
