Biography
Dr Kang-Teng Lim joined Gold Coast Heart Centre in June 2008 as a Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist. He graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1997 and completed his Basic and Advanced Cardiology Training in Melbourne. He was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in 2004.
Dr Lim subsequently completed fellowship training in electrophysiology and pacing at Royal Perth Hospital in 2006. He undertook further advanced training in Bordeaux, France, under the supervision of Professor Michel Haissaguerre, a pioneer in catheter ablation therapy and atrial fibrillation ablation. During this time, Dr Lim contributed to numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters.
Dr Lim has a particular interest in catheter ablation therapy for atrial fibrillation and other cardiac arrhythmias, as well as the implantation of cardiac implantable electronic devices, including pacemakers, defibrillators and loop recorders. He also has extensive experience in general cardiology, including coronary angiography, transoesophageal echocardiography and other non-invasive cardiac investigations.
Dr Lim provides inpatient and outpatient cardiology consultation services at Mater Private Hospital Gold Coast.
