Dr Kaushik Kumar is a specialist General and Colorectal Surgeon consutling from the specialist suites at Mater Health Hub, Springfield Central with admitting rights to Mater Private Hosptial Springfield.

Dr Kumar obtained his Master of Surgery, M.S. at Gujarat University, Ahmedabad, India where he worked as a consultant surgeon before moving to Australia. He has since advanced his skills and expertise working in regional and metropolitan hospitals in Queensland as a part of the general surgery training programme and was awarded his Fellowship of General Surgery (FRACS) from the Royal Australasian College of Surgery in 2020.

Dr Kumar undertook further sub-specialist training in colorectal surgery at QE II Jubilee hospital and Gold Coast University Hospital giving him vast experience in dealing with complex issues including colorectal cancers, diverticular disease, Inflammatory bowels disease and anorectal disorders.

He is efficient in performing advanced laparoscopic procedures in general and colorectal surgery and GESA accredited for gastroscopy and colonoscopy procedures.

Dr Kumar strives to provide personalised, empathetic and holistic care to all his patients focused on developing and delivering an excellent surgical service. He takes pride in optimising care through effective communication, and is fluent in Hindi and Gujarati languages, in additional to English.
