Biography
Dr Kheng Tian Lim is a Senior Specialist General Surgeon with extensive experience in upper and lower gastrointestinal surgery, minimally invasive (keyhole) techniques, and therapeutic endoscopy. He is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care, with a focus on achieving optimal outcomes through modern, evidence-based surgical practice.
Dr Lim graduated with honours from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) and completed comprehensive surgical training in Ireland. He was awarded the Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST) and Intercollegiate FRCS in General Surgery. He also holds a Master of Surgery (MCh) degree by research from University College Dublin.
He undertook advanced fellowship training in Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery at St James’s Hospital, Dublin, a leading centre for complex oesophagogastric conditions. Dr. Lim subsequently worked as a consultant surgeon in the United Kingdom and Singapore before establishing his practice in Australia, bringing a broad depth of international experience to his patients.
Dr Lim specialises in the management of a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions, including reflux disease, gallbladder disease, hernias, and both benign and malignant disorders of the upper and lower gastrointestinal tract. He has a particular interest in minimally invasive surgery and advanced endoscopic procedures, aimed at enhancing recovery, reducing postoperative discomfort, and improving overall patient outcomes.
He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI), the American College of Surgeons (ACS), and the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS). He is also an active member of several international professional societies, including the International Society for Diseases of the Esophagus (ISDE), the International Gastric Cancer Association (IGCA), and the Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Surgeons of Asia (ELSA).
Dr Lim maintains an active interest in academic surgery, with a focus on General Surgery and Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery. He has contributed to peer-reviewed publications, with his work available via his ORCID profile and ResearchGate.
