Dr Kieran Hirpara is an upper limb orthopaedic surgeon consulting and operating at CQ Hand and Upper Limb, based at Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton. CQ Hand and Upper Limb is Central Queensland’s dedicated orthopaedic practice specialising exclusively in conditions of the upper limb.

Dr Hirpara is a dual fellowship–trained orthopaedic surgeon with comprehensive expertise in disorders of the shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand and has been practising in Rockhampton since 2016.

His practice encompasses the full spectrum of upper-limb surgery, from arthroscopic shoulder procedures and joint replacement to microsurgical hand surgery, including complex nerve and tendon repair.

Dr Hirpara graduated from the University of Galway, Ireland in 2002 and was awarded FRCS (Tr & Orth) in 2013. He then completed a Doctor of Medicine (MD) research degree prior to undertaking advanced subspecialty fellowship training in orthoplastic hand surgery in Manchester, United Kingdom, and shoulder and elbow surgery in Brisbane. He was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (Orthopaedics) in 2020.

CQ Hand and Upper Limb provides specialist care to patients with private health insurance, as well as DVA and WorkCover patients, serving the broader Capricorn Coast region including Rockhampton, Gladstone, Bundaberg, Mackay, Emerald and Central West Queensland. Telehealth follow-up appointments are available for patient convenience.

Shoulder: Arthroscopic rotator cuff repair and shoulder stabilisation (arthroscopic Latarjet, Bankart repair), total and reverse shoulder replacement, frozen shoulder release, subacromial decompression / bursitis surgery and calcific tendinitis excision

Elbow: Tennis elbow / golfer's elbow release, cubital tunnel release and elbow arthroscopy

Wrist & Hand: Carpal tunnel release, trigger finger release, Dupuytren’s fasciectomy, thumb (CMC) joint replacement, ganglion cyst excision (open and arthroscopic) distal radius and hand fracture fixation and microsurgical tendon and nerve repair
