Dr Lisa Gemmell

Inpatient acute geriatric care, and geriatric care within a multidisciplinary rehabilitation setting.

Lisa has been working at the Mater Private since 2002 in the field of geriatrics, with a special interest in geriatric rehabilitation and prevention of deconditioning in elderly people.

Lisa obtained her Bachelor of Medicine with Honours from the University of Newcastle in 1992.

Moving to Brisbane she undertook her advanced training in geriatrics at Royal Brisbane, Prince Charles and Princess Alexandra hospitals, and obtained her Fellowship from the Royal Australian College of Physicians in 2001.
She has experience in all aspects of Geriatric care, focusing mainly on inpatient Geriatric management.

She has a special interest in orthogeriatric care and the management of multiple medical comorbidities, and extensive experience as a geriatrician working in a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team setting.
