Biography
Dr Lochlin Brown graduated from The University of Queensland in 2003 and completed his orthopaedic surgical training in Queensland in 2012. Following his orthopaedic training, he undertook a 12-month postgraduate fellowship in hip and knee surgery at the Royal Infirmary Hospital in Edinburgh, Scotland. His fellowship included six months focused on complex primary hip and knee arthroplasty with Mr Colin Howie, Past President of the British Orthopaedic Association, followed by six months of training in soft tissue and sports knee surgery, osteotomy and knee replacement surgery.
Born on the Gold Coast, Dr Brown completed his schooling at The Southport School (TSS). Since returning to the Gold Coast, he has been actively involved with the Gold Coast Suns as a game day doctor. He is also a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Gold Coast University Hospital where he contributes to the training and education of junior medical staff, nursing staff and medical students. Dr Brown is currently the Director of Orthopaedic Surgery Training at Gold Coast University Hospital.
Dr Brown has a particular interest in hip and knee arthritis surgery, joint replacement, knee reconstruction and arthroscopic surgery, lower limb trauma and ankle reconstruction. He accepts DVA and WorkCover patients and welcomes referrals from GPs and other healthcare professionals.
