Biography

Dr Maggie He is a cardiologist with subspecialty expertise in interventional cardiology, consulting and operating at Mater Private Hospital South Brisbane with a strong clinical focus on the diagnosis and management of coronary artery disease and acute heart attack care, integrating advanced procedural skills with evidence‑based, individualised treatment.

Dr He completed her advanced cardiology training at Gold Coast University Hospital and Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane, attaining Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP).

She undertook two years of dedicated interventional cardiology fellowship training. This included a dedicated interventional fellowship at Gold Coast University Hospital, followed by the prestigious Australia and New Zealand Endovascular Therapies (ANZET) Fellowship at Leeds General Infirmary in the United Kingdom.

Leeds is the busiest primary PCI (heart attack) centre in the UK, where she gained extensive experience in high‑volume, complex, and high‑risk coronary angioplasty and stenting including the management of left main disease, heavily calcified coronary arteries, and acute heart attacks.

In addition to clinical practice, she is actively involved in medical education and research. She holds a Senior Lecturer appointment with Griffith University’s School of Medicine and Dentistry and contributes regularly to international peer‑reviewed publications and conference presentations.

She is committed to a holistic approach to cardiovascular health, recognising the importance of prevention, lifestyle modification, optimal medical therapy, and long‑term risk reduction alongside procedural care and is known for her calm, patient‑centred manner and her ability to explain cardiac conditions and treatment options clearly, helping patients feel informed, supported, and confident in their care.
