Dr Mahanama Dissanayake is a general surgeon who specialises on a broad scope of general surgical conditions and procedures.  His clinical interests are laparoscopic surgery, colorectal including perianal surgery, thyroid and parathyroid surgery, hernia surgery and skin cancer surgery. He is also GESA accredited endoscopist and colonoscopist.

Dr Dissanayake graduated in MBBS in 2003 in Sri Lanka and completed his surgical training, Doctor of Medicine in Surgery (MD) in Sri Lanka and Perth in 2012. He further obtained MRCS(England) diploma and Fellowship of Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS). He has had vast experience in general surgery for more than 10 years as a specialist.

Dr Dissanayake has been working for the past six years as a senior staff specialist general surgeon at Mackay Hospital and Health Service since he moved permanently to Australia. 

Dr Dissanayake is accepting referrals for surgical consults and surgical procedures.
