Biography

Dr Mai Badr is an experienced paediatrician offering neonatology and complex care for patients spanning infancy, childhood, and adolescence (up to 16 years of age).

Dr Badr completed her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery at Cairo University in Egypt.

She completed her paediatric training at Cairo University Hospital, where she managed acute and chronic conditions before being appointed as a staff specialist.

She joined the rehabilitation team at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead in Sydney, gaining further experience in complex cases, working within multidisciplinary teams.

Upon emigrating to Australia, Dr Badr successfully obtained her Paediatric Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.

Dr Badr has now joined the team at Mater Private Hospital Mackay, bringing her passion and expertise in neonatology and developmental paediatrics to the region, and providing acute, chronic, and complex care.

She is also a dedicated medical educator, lecturing at The University of Queensland Faculty of Medicine.

A technology enthusiast, Dr. Badr developed the "Pediatric Pedia" application available on both iOS and Android and used by more than 50,000 paediatricians globally.

Her philosophy is patient-centred with an emphasis on community health education.
