Biography

Dr Matthew Alfredson is an Australian trained orthopaedic surgeon with a particular clinical focus on hip and knee replacement and lower limb reconstruction. 

He is skilled in hip and knee joint replacement and arthroscopic surgery in addition to knee reconstruction. He is committed to providing his patients with a total management plan in a caring and compassionate way. 

Dr Alfredson consults from our Southport rooms and operates at Mater Private Hospital Gold Coast. He also holds a staff specialist appointment at Gold Coast University and Robina Public Hospitals. 

Dr Alfredson graduated from the University of New South Wales with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree/Science in 2000. He completed his orthopaedic training in 2012 in New South Wales. He furthered his training by completing a fellowship in hip and knee arthroplasty at Prince of Wales Hospital, Sydney under Dr Michael Solomon. 

Dr Alfredson is the director of training at Gold Coast University Hospital for orthopaedic trainees. His commitment to education extends to international fellows, junior doctors and medical students in the public sector.
