Neurological rehabilitation, amputee rehabilitation, orthopaedic rehabilitation, cardiac rehabilitation, deconditioning and frailty, cancer rehabilitation, geriatric rehabilitation and cognition disorders.

Dr Michael Johnson completed his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in Queensland and undertook advanced training in rehabilitation medicine across metropolitan and regional hospitals throughout Queensland. After attaining a Fellowship in Rehabilitation Medicine, Dr Johnson accepted a position at Toowoomba Hospital, where he was responsible for the Rehabilitation Unit and associated outreach services. In 2008, he relocated to the Gold Coast to take on the role of Medical Director of the Rehabilitation Unit at Allamanda Private Hospital and continues in this role at Mater Private Hospital Gold Coast. 

While Dr Johnson’s main interests include the rehabilitation of frail and deconditioned patients, orthopaedic rehabilitation and cancer rehabilitation, he is involved in the comprehensive care of patients with a wide range of conditions requiring rehabilitation.

Dr Johnson welcomes referrals from GPs and other healthcare professionals to discuss patients and arrange consultations or admissions to the Rehabilitation Unit at Mater Private Hospital Gold Coast.
