Biography

Dr Kalamaras completed his orthopaedic surgical training in Queensland in 2009. 

Following his orthopaedic training he spent one and a half years in postgraduate hand and upper limb fellowship positions in Australia and overseas. He has worked at the National Cappagh Orthopaedic Hospital in Dublin, Ireland, as well as with the Canberra Orthopaedic Group and with the department of hand and peripheral nerve surgery at The Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney. He has also undertaken training in Milan, Nice, Osaka, Cork, as well as in various Australian cities. 

Upon returning to Queensland, Dr Kalamaras established a practice with an emphasis on hand surgery, wrist, elbow and shoulder arthroscopic surgery, peripheral nerve and microsurgery. 

Dr Kalamaras has a keen interest in hand and upper limb trauma, arthritis and sports reconstruction surgery. His work also encompasses surgery for severe hand injuries and amputated parts, hand and upper limb conditions and injuries in children. 

Dr Kalamaras treats adults and children and has a particular interest in arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, elbow, wrist and carpal tunnel.
