Biography

Dr Mitchell McKean is a proud local delivering expert care to Brisbane’s western corridor, practicing at Mater Private Hospital Springfield.

First completing a Bachelor of Science in 2002, Dr McKean went on to complete his Bachelor of Medicine at The University of Queensland in 2006. He went on to complete fellowships in clinical pharmacology and general and acute care medicine in 2015.

Dr McKean has a keen interest in education and remains a senior lecturer at The University of Queensland. He has also contributed to a range of research and publications in a number of peer-reviewed journals.

With clinical interests in obesity, diabetes, polypharmacology and toxicology, Dr McKean is the clinical director of specialty medicine and chronic conditions at Ipswich Hospital and a member of the Australian Society of Clinical and Experimental Pharmacologists and Toxicologists and The Obesity Society.

As perioperative medicine representative on the Medical Advisory Committee, Dr McKean is committed to delivering exceptional care to each of his patients at Mater Private Hospital Springfield.
