Dr Muhammad Umer Ihsan

Emergency Medicine

Dr Muhammad Umer Ihsan is the Site Director of the Emergency Care Centre at Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton.

He holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Science from the University of Punjab, Pakistan (2001), and became a Fellow of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine in 2013.

With more than 17 years of clinical and academic experience across Pakistan, the UK, USA, and Australia, Dr Ihsan is a certified emergency physician and educator with a strong focus on ultrasound and simulation-based training.

Since settling in Rockhampton with his family in 2012, he has served as a Senior Staff Specialist and Ultrasound Fellowship Program Supervisor at Rockhampton Hospital.

Dr Ihsan is a qualified training supervisor with the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine and has led initiatives in curriculum development and medical simulation software to enhance clinical decision making.

He is passionate about delivering consistent, high quality emergency care, which he believes is essential for the Rockhampton community.
