Clinical Interests
Chest pain assessment, coronary artery disease, coronary angiography and percutaneous coronary intervention (stenting), primary angioplasty (heart attacks, cardiac arrests), complex coronary interventions, including advanced calcium modification, intracoronary imaging (IVUS, OCT) and coronary physiology assessments, right heart catheterisation (pulmonary hypertension and congenital heart disease), heart failure and cardiomyopathy, management of cardiovascular health related to other complex medical conditions (such as respiratory, gastrointestinal or neurological conditions).
Biography
Dr Naim Mridha is an interventional and general cardiologist. His vision is to offer patients a compassionate, personalised and evidence-based approach to heart health. As a lifelong Gold Coast local, Dr Mridha is passionate about giving back to the community that shaped him.
He undertook his general physician and cardiology training across several major tertiary hospitals including The Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and Gold Coast University Hospital. Following this, Dr Mridha completed a rigorous and comprehensive two-year interventional cardiology fellowship at The Prince Charles Hospital - one of Australia's leading cardiac centres.
Dr Mridha’s subspecialty expertise is in coronary angiography and coronary intervention, with a particular focus on incorporating the latest advanced technologies such as intracoronary imaging (IVUS/OCT) and coronary physiology to enhance precision and optimise outcomes. His other interests include echocardiography, CT coronary angiography and the management of heart failure, cardiomyopathy and valvular heart disease.
Dr Mridha is an active clinical researcher with a strong commitment to evidence-based cardiac care. He has multiple first-author publications in highly reputable journals and regularly presents at national and international cardiology meetings. He is completing a higher research degree exploring coronary physiology changes in patients undergoing Transcatheter Artic Valve Implantation (TAVI).
Dr Mridha holds various academic titles, including Senior Lecturer at Griffith University and is actively involved in the teaching and supervision of cardiology trainees, junior medical staff and students.
Outside of medicine, he enjoys cricket, a day at the beach and spending quality time with his family.
