Dr Nigel Johnson

Dentoalveolar surgery (wisdom teeth), Osseointegrated dental implants, orthognathic surgery/obstructive sleep apnoea, maxillofacial trauma reconstruction, temporomandibular joint surgery and oral and maxillofacial pathology.

Dr Nigel Johnson is an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon who practises the full scope of the speciality including but not limited to dentoalveolar surgery (wisdom teeth), Osseointegrated dental implants, orthognathic surgery/obstructive sleep apnoea, maxillofacial trauma reconstruction, temporomandibular joint surgery and oral and maxillofacial pathology. 

Dr Johnson holds the following University of Queensland qualifications: Bachelor of Dental Science (BDSc Hons), Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and Masters of Philosophy (MPhil Surgery). Dr Johnson undertook his speciality surgical training in Queensland and is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, FRACDS (OMS). 

Dr Johnson possesses a strong research interest in oral and maxillofacial surgery. He has authored numerous papers in international journals on Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology, Craniomaxillofacial Trauma and Temporomandibular Joint Replacement Prostheses; and presented at international, national and state conferences. 

Dr Johnson is also appointed at the Princess Alexandra Hospital as a Consultant in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and is involved in the training of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Registrars, junior doctors, medical and dental students. Dr Johnson is a Senior Lecturer with the University of Queensland Medical School and is the Senior Lecturer in Oral Surgery with the University of Queensland Dental School.

Outside of work, Nigel enjoys spending time with his wife, sons, family and friends.
