Dr Nimithri (Nim) Cabraal is a highly trained and experienced subspecialist Gynaecological Oncologist and Gynaecological Surgeon in Brisbane, specialising in gynaecological cancer surgery, complex benign gynaecological surgery and advanced pelvic surgery.

With more than 10 years’ experience in gynaecological oncology, she provides specialist surgical care for women with confirmed or suspected gynaecological cancers, complex ovarian and pelvic masses, and benign gynaecological conditions requiring advanced surgical expertise.

Nim is a Senior Staff Specialist in Gynaecological Oncology at Mater Hospital Brisbane and  provides private specialist consultations in South Brisbane and Cleveland, with private surgery at Mater Private Hospital Brisbane.

Her surgical practice encompasses robotic and laparoscopic minimally invasive surgery, open abdominal surgery, radical pelvic surgery and surgery for advanced gynaecological malignancy. She has extensive experience in the surgical management of ovarian, endometrial, cervical and vulvovaginal cancers, as well as complex ovarian and pelvic masses. She also performs hysterectomy and advanced pelvic surgery for benign gynaecological conditions, with particular expertise in complex cases.

Following specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Nim undertook several further years of advanced subspecialty training in gynaecological oncology across major tertiary centres in Australia and New Zealand. Her advanced training also included dedicated experience in colorectal surgery, complementing her expertise in complex abdominal and pelvic surgery.

Nim is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG) and holds the College’s advanced subspecialty Certification in Gynaecological Oncology (CGO).

She also holds a Master’s degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science and is actively involved in clinical guideline development, research, education and training. She is the author of the statewide clinical guideline Surveillance of Women Following Treatment for Gynaecological Cancer, helping to establish an evidence-based and consistent approach to care following cancer treatment.
