Stable coronary artery disease hyperlipidaemia management, acute coronary syndrome, structural and valvular heart disease, acute and chronic heart failure syncope, atrial fibrillation arrhythmias, cardiac imaging – transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiograms, cardioversion loop recorder, cardiovascular computed tomography, coronary angiography, coronary imaging including intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) and optical coherence tomography (OCT) percutaneous coronary interventions (PCIs) and right heart studies. 

Biography

Dr Pavan Thaneeru is a general and interventional cardiologist practising at Mater Private Hospital Mackay. 

Dr Thaneeru has completed his basic physician training and cardiology training in New Zealand as well as advanced interventional cardiology training, including structural heart disease intervention at Christchurch Hospital in New Zealand. 

During this period, he gained extensive experience in coronary artery imaging, including IVUS and complex coronary artery intervention by radial access. He has level A CTCA accreditation. 

 Dr Thaneeru has worked as consultant interventional cardiologist in secondary and tertiary care hospitals in Australia and New Zealand. 

He is passionate about improving public awareness of cardiac disease and promoting cardiovascular health within the community. 

 Dr Thaneeru has a strong academic background and has been involved in cardiology teaching to medical students, medical registrars, and cardiology trainees. 

He is a senior lecturer at the University of Queensland and has published and presented several cardiology research projects in coronary and structural heart intervention at national and international conferences.
