Biography

Dr Peter Borzi, a specialist paediatric surgeon, has been working with the doctors and children of Queensland and northern New South Wales for more than 25 years.

​Completing his early surgical training at the Royal Children's Hospital in both Brisbane and Melbourne, Peter went on to further his studies after obtaining his Royal Australian College of Surgeons fellowship. He then spent over 3 years gaining experience working overseas in Manchester, Bristol and Leeds, culminating in an appointment as a Paediatric Surgeon and Paediatric Urologist at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London.

On returning to his home town of Brisbane, he was appointed to the Royal Children's Hospital and the Mater Children's Hospital and most recently The Queensland Children's Hospital (QCH). He helped pioneer Minimal Access Surgery for children making Brisbane the early world leader in Laparoscopic and Thoracoscopic Surgery for neonates, infants and children.

​Peter is the Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, member of the Australian and New Zealand Association of Paediatric Surgeons, European Association of Paediatric Urologists and the Australian Medical Association.
