Biography
Dr Fanning is currently in private practice in Brisbane’s southern bayside area at Cleveland with rooms at Mater Private Hospital Redland.
His interests span gastroenterology in general with a busy diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy practice (upper endoscopy and colonoscopy) and consultative practice that includes hepatology.
He went to Adelaide University, graduating in 1989 and undertook advanced physician training in gastroenterology at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Adelaide finishing in 1996. He spent an interesting 12 months working at Royal Darwin Hospital after finishing training and then a year at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane as Senior Fellow in gastroenterology and hepatology from which he published some research in the areas of liver fibrosis markers and primary biliary cirrhosis.
He has been in private practice in Brisbane since 1999.
