Biography

Dr Ramesh Damodaran-Prabha is a General Surgeon with subspecialty training in liver, pancreatic and biliary surgery. After completing his general surgery training in Perth, he undertook a regional general surgery fellowship, followed by three years of subspecialty training in hepatopancreatobiliary surgery at Royal North Shore Hospital, Gold Coast University Hospital and Liverpool Hospital in Sydney.

Dr Damodaran-Prabha has also undertaken overseas training at the world-renowned pancreatic surgery unit at Royal Liverpool Hospital in the United Kingdom. He has a special interest in minimally invasive general surgery and has completed a master’s degree in minimally invasive surgery. He is GESA-accredited to perform upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopy.

An ASSET and ATLS instructor, Dr Damodaran-Prabha is passionate about teaching and empowering medical students and surgical trainees. He has settled on the Gold Coast with his wife, who is a general practitioner, and their two daughters.

Dr Damodaran-Prabha welcomes calls from GPs at any time to help facilitate the best possible care for his patients.
