Biography

Dr Ravinder Batra is a highly experienced Interventional Cardiologist with over two decades of service as a Senior Medical Officer at Gold Coast University Hospital (GCUH). He completed his medical, physician and cardiology training at the University of Delhi, India, followed by a Fellowship in Electrophysiology at Maastricht, Netherlands. He also spent time working as a Consultant Cardiologist at Birmingham City Hospital in the United Kingdom before returning to India, where he held an academic appointment at GB Pant Hospital, University of Delhi.

Dr Batra relocated to the Gold Coast in 2006 and has since played a pivotal role in the development and expansion of cardiology services at GCUH. He is currently the Clinical Director of the Cardiac Catheter Laboratory at GCUH and is a key contributor to the Intervention program. Over the years, he has established himself as one of the leading interventional cardiologists in the region, with extensive experience in complex coronary interventions and structural heart procedures, including TAVI.

In addition to his procedural expertise, Dr Batra is widely recognised as a thorough and thoughtful clinician. He has contributed to numerous publications and has presented his work at both national and international scientific meetings. He also holds an academic appointment as Associate Professor of Cardiology with Griffith University.
