Biography

Dr Sachin Ranasinghe is a Brisbane—based urologist with expertise in robotic and minimally invasive surgery and the treatment of prostate cancer, kidney cancer, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and kidney stones.

He operates at Mater Private Hospital Brisbane, Mater Hospital Brisbane, Mater Private Hospital Springfield and Mater Hospital Springfield.

Dr Ranasinghe graduated from The University of Queensland and completed specialist urology training across metropolitan and regional Queensland and New South Wales hospitals.

He was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal of Surgeons (FRACS) in Urology in 2025 and is a member of the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand.

To further refine his Skills, Dr Ranasinghe undertook a fellowship in uro-oncology and BPH at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital in the Unted Kingdom.

He gained advanced skills in robotic surgery for prostate, bladder and kidney cancers and BPH treatments including Aquablation, HoLEP. Rezüm and UroLift.

He is among a select of group of Australian urologists with fellowship training in robotic
retroperitoneal partial nephrectomy, the  Hood' technique for robotic prostatectomies, HoLEP and Aquablation.

Committed to education and mentorship, Dr Ranasinghe is an Associate Lecturer at The University of Queensland and actively supports the development of future medical professionals.

He established Australia's first Urology Bootcamp at Nepean Hospital in Sydney for medical students and junior doctors and has participated in surgical outreach programs in Ethiopia and Sri Lanka.
