Biography

Dr Sam Hayman is a cardiologist with subspecialty training in interventional cardiology, who joined GenesisCare in 2017.

Dr Hayman graduated medical school with honours in 2008 from the University of Queensland and worked as a cardiac scientist at The Prince Charles Hospital during medical school. He then undertook his physician training and advanced training in cardiology at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and the Nambour General Hospital, becoming a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physicians in 2015. He went on to complete two years of fellowship in interventional cardiology (coronary and structural interventions) at the London Health Sciences Centre, London, Ontario, Canada.

Dr Hayman has additional training and interest in transcatheter heart valve implantation and repair and is an accredited TAVI practitioner. He has multiple publications in peer reviewed journals and has ongoing research interests.

Dr Sam Hayman works from the Mater Private Clinic in South Brisbane for general cardiology and coronary intervention, and visits Gympie on a regular basis. He also has a public appointment at The Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and is an associate lecturer for The University of Queensland.
