Biography

Dr Simon Arnett is a Neurologist practicing at Mater Private Hospital Townsville, providing comprehensive neurological care to patients across North Queensland.

Dr Arnett graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the Australian National University, Canberra, in 2012, following the completion of a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in 2007.

He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physicians (FRACP) and a member of the Australian and New Zealand Association of Neurologists (ANZAN).

He undertook advanced subspecialty training in neuro‑inflammatory diseases, including multiple sclerosis, under the mentorship of Professor Simon Broadley at Gold Coast University Hospital.

Dr Arnett also completed further training in general neurology and peripheral nerve disorders across hospitals in the Gold Coast and Townsville regions.

With a strong personal and professional connection to regional Australia, Dr Arnett is committed to improving access to specialist neurological care for rural and regional communities.

Having practiced in Far North Queensland for many years, he has recently relocated to Townsville, where he continues to deliver high-quality, patient-centred neurological care.
