Biography

Dr Schleimer commenced orthopaedic training in Queensland in 2010, completing rotations at Gold Coast University Hospital as part of her training. After successfully completing her orthopaedic fellowship examinations, she commenced work as a Staff Specialist at Logan Bayside Hospital before undertaking an overseas foot and ankle fellowship at Charité Hospital in Berlin, Germany.

During her fellowship, Dr Schleimer participated in advanced foot and ankle courses, including minimally invasive foot surgery training. She also travelled to France to further develop her expertise in these techniques under the guidance of one of the founders of minimally invasive foot surgery.

Since returning from her fellowship, Dr Schleimer has divided her time between her role as a Staff Specialist at Gold Coast University Hospital and private practice at Mater Private Hospital Gold Coast.

Dr Schleimer is an active member of the Australian Orthopaedic Association, Australian Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society and the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. She organises training courses for orthopaedic registrars and has been invited to speak at international orthopaedic meetings. Dr Schleimer has a strong interest in research aimed at improving surgical techniques and outcomes in foot and ankle surgery.
