Biography

Dr St John Newman is committed to delivering comprehensive cancer care, combining cutting edge radiation therapy and knowledge to ensure the best possible outcomes for his patients. His compassionate approach and high attention to detail reassures patients they are in capable hands.

Prior to pursuing a career in medicine, Dr Newman completed a Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) at the University of Queensland. He worked as a pharmacist for four years before and during his medical training. In 2014, Dr Newman completed a Doctor of Medicine (MD) at the University of Melbourne. He subsequently undertook specialist radiation oncology training at the North Coast Cancer Institute in New South Wales and Gold Coast University Hospital, Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in Queensland. He is also a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR).

Dr Newman has a subspecialty interest in head and neck cancers including mucosal and complex cutaneous disease, malignant and benign CNS tumours and thoracic cancers. He is also credentialled in intracranial Stereotactic Radiotherapy (SRT), spine Stereotactic Ablative Body Radiotherapy (SABR), lung SABR and bone SABR.
