Dr Sylvio Provenzano is a consultant cardiothoracic surgeon with expertise in adult and congenital cardiac and thoracic (heart and lung) surgery. He holds a specialist appointment at a major tertiary hospital and practises across both the public and private sectors, including Mater Private Hospital Gold Coast and Gold Coast University Hospital.

His clinical practice includes complex adult cardiac and thoracic surgery with expertise in coronary artery bypass surgery, valvular heart disease and aortic disease, including the surgical management of aortic dissection. Where clinically appropriate, Dr Provenzano utilises minimally invasive techniques, including Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) and Uniportal Video-Assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery (Uniportal VATS).

Dr Provenzano is committed to evidence-based surgical care, multidisciplinary collaboration and optimising peri-operative outcomes. In addition to his clinical practice, he contributes to surgical education and professional development and has been involved in peer-reviewed publications and presentations at scientific meetings in cardiothoracic surgery.

Dr Provenzano is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) and is registered as a specialist cardiothoracic surgeon in Australia.
