Biography

A/Prof Terence Chua colorectal surgeon. He is a Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GESA) certified surgeon and endoscopist and performs gastroscopy and colonoscopy. His operative surgery repertoire includes gallbladder and hernia surgery, thyroid surgery and minimally invasive colorectal surgery.

A/Prof Chua graduated from the University of New South Wales medical school. He trained across numerous hospitals in Sydney and was awarded fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2019. He holds a Doctorate in Philosophy in Colorectal Cancer Surgery where his research was recognized with an award on the Dean’s List. He has an in-depth understanding about bowel cancer from precancerous conditions of polyps requiring colonoscopic polypectomy, to early cancers requiring laparoscopic colorectal surgery, and management of advanced recurrent cancers combining integrated care with medical oncology and radiation oncology together with radical surgery to achieve best results.
