Biography

Dr Ulahannan has been a Specialist Consultant Endocrinologist in Australia since 2013. Prior to that he worked for 12 years in the NHS in the UK.

He attained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with distinction at Leeds University, United Kingdom.  He also completed specialist training in endocrinology and research methods in Oxford University.

He was awarded membership of the Royal College of Physicians of the United Kingdom in 1994, was elected to Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians, London in 2004 and received Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2014. He is recognised as a specialist endocrinologist by AHPRA, the UK General Medical Council and the Medical Council of India

In Australia, Dr Ulahannan is a past Director of Clinical Training in Bundaberg for Queensland Health and Director of the Rural Clinical School in Bundaberg for The University of Queensland.

Dr Ulahannan has established a multidisciplinary team working with a dietitian, diabetes educator, clinical psychologist and exercise physiologist for patients with diabetes, hormone problems and obesity. He has also introduced testing for replacement for growth hormone deficiency in his practice.

He has published and presented his research at national and international meetings.

Dr Ulahannan consultants monthly at Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton.
