Dr Victor Liew is a bariatric and upper gastrointestinal surgeon with a focus on laparoscopic surgery for obesity and metabolic disorders. After completing his medical degree at Monash University, Victoria, in 1995, he commenced surgical training in Queensland in 2000 and completed a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in 2005.

Dr Liew subsequently undertook two years of postgraduate training in bariatric and upper gastrointestinal surgery before relocating to the Gold Coast, where he has worked as a surgical consultant for more than 10 years. He is a member of the Australian and New Zealand Metabolic and Obesity Surgery Society (ANZMOSS), the Australia and New Zealand Gastro-Oesophageal Surgery Association (ANZGOSA), the Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GESA) and the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES).

Dr Liew specialises in bariatric and laparoscopic surgery, performing a range of primary and revisional bariatric procedures for obesity and metabolic disorders. He provides care to patients across the Gold Coast, as well as rural and remote communities throughout Queensland and northern New South Wales.
