Biography
Dr Kapadia completed his cardiology training in Wellington and the Green Lane Hospital in Auckland, with interventional cardiology training in Victoria, Canada. He has admitting rights at Mater Private Hospital Gold Coast, Pindara Hospital and John Flynn Hospital and is also a visiting cardiologist at Gold Coast University Hospital.
He is interested in all aspects of cardiology including clinical cardiology, stress testing, echocardiography, pacemaker implantation, paediatric cardiology, coronary angiography and angioplasty. Dr Kapadia is actively involved in medical student and registrar teaching. He started the monthly Gold Coast Clinical Cardiology meetings, now in their sixteenth year.
He has made a commitment to Fiji where he is helping to setup a national cardiac centre. He also helped to establish cardiac catheter lab in Fiji’s major referral hospital in Suva. He is a member of the Sydney Adventist Hospital’s Operation Heart team to Fiji and does the screening of patients with rheumatic heart disease before valvular surgery.
Dr Kapadia provides inpatient and outpatient consultation services weekly at our Mater Private Hospital Gold Coast rooms. Inpatients are visited daily.
After hours, weekend and holiday cover is provided by Dr Kapadia and other members of the Gold Coast Heart Centre providing a 24-hour, 365-day yearly service.
