Biography

Dr Waled Mohsen is a gastroenterologist and hepatologist with appointments at Mater Private Hospital Gold Coast and Gold Coast University Hospital where he is a Staff Specialist in Gastroenterology. He completed his medical degree with honours at the University of Sydney and subsequently undertook Advanced Gastroenterology Training at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (NSW Liver Transplant Centre) and Liverpool Hospital. His training has encompassed a broad range of gastroenterological conditions, including liver disease and functional bowel disorders, and he has extensive experience in luminal gastrointestinal procedures and the management of complex inflammatory bowel disease.

Following completion of his gastroenterology training in Sydney, Dr Mohsen undertook a Research and Clinical Fellowship at John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, United Kingdom, where he focused on inflammatory bowel disease and quality colonoscopy. He has presented at local and international conferences and published research in peer-reviewed medical journals, and he is actively involved in the education and training of gastroenterology trainees and junior doctors at Gold Coast University Hospital.
