Dr Wendela Schimmer

Dr Wendela lives in Mackay with her husband and four young daughters. She has been working at the Mackay Base Hospital since 2014 as a General and Breast Surgeon.

Dr Schimmer received a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Brussels in 2000 and joined the Royal Australian College of Surgeons in 2010. She worked for 6 years in Victoria until she decided she wanted to work and live in a more regional setting.

Dr Schimmer brings a wealth of experience to Mackay Surgical Group and is looking forward to specialising in the field of Breast surgery and management. Dr Schimmer is multi-lingual speaking English, Dutch, French and some German.

Dr Schimmer enjoys spending time with her family and exploring Mackay and the surrounds and can often be found at community events around the region.
