Biography
Dr Yasaman Samadi is a Rheumatologist consulting at Mater Private Hospital Townsville.
She specialises in caring for people living with autoimmune and inflammatory conditions.
Dr Samadi completed her medical degree at the University of Cape Town, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBChB) with Distinction in 2002. She subsequently spent several years practising in the United Kingdom, where she attained Membership of the Royal College of Physicians in 2006.
Following her move to Australia, Dr Samadi completed advanced training in rheumatology at Royal Perth Hospital and was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in Rheumatology in 2011. She is a member of the Australian Rheumatology Association and the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.
Dr Samadi returned to South Africa, where she completed a Masters in Public Health while raising her three children. In 2022, she relocated back to Australia, ultimately settling in Townsville in 2025.
Dr Samadi is now proud to serve the local community, bringing with her a global perspective, a strong academic foundation, and a genuine commitment to patient‑centred care.
She is committed to working in partnership with her patients, helping them understand their condition and supporting them to live well.
