Dr Yoon-Kyo An

Dr Yoon An completed her Medical Science degree (BMedSc) at the University of Sydney and her Medical degree (MBBS) at the University of Queensland. She undertook physician and advanced gastroenterology training at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital (RBWH) and Mater Hospital Brisbane. She is currently undertaking a clinical and research fellowship in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) at Mater Hospital Brisbane, and is pursuing a PhD through the University of Queensland. Dr An continues to be involved in clinical research and clinical trials through the Mater Hospital Brisbane.

Based at Mater Private Hospital Brisbane, she provides consultation services in general gastroenterology with a keen interest in gut inflammation, together with endoscopy and colonoscopy procedures including bowel cancer and gastric cancer screening. She is also fully accredited in capsule endoscopy and intestinal ultrasound. In addition to English, Dr An is also fluent in Korean.

Dr An strives to improve medical education, training and leadership. She dedicates her time to advocate for doctors, medical students, and patients. Dr An is an associate lecturer at the University of Queensland, and she received multiple “excellence in clinical teaching awards” over the years. She is also involved multiple medical organisation locally and globally as an executive committee member. As recognition for her hard work, she received a “Young Leader’s Award” in 2014.
