Biography

Dr Thet is an Associate Professor at Griffith University and The University of Queensland, he is a senior nephrologist and a certified hypertension specialist. Dr Thet has been practicing since 2002, he completed his medical degree at the University of Medicine, Rangoon, Burma (Myanmar).

Dr Thet is a highly motivated medical professional with solid academic knowledge, sound clinical background and excellent management skills. He published many review papers and research projects. Currently, he is leading the following projects:

  • A randomised control trail on pharmacokinetics of highly protein bound direct oral anticoagulant in prevention and treatment of primary nephrotic syndrome associated thromboembolic disease
  • Non-Melanoma Skin Cancer in Central Queensland Renal Transplant Recipients: Risk Factors and Barriers in Management
  • Comparison of the Risk of Malignancy and Immunosuppressants Related Morbidity in Renal Transplant Recipients and Patients with Glomerular Nephritis
  • Queensland Renal Biopsy Registry
