Biography

Jillian is a Registered Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia; a Member of the Australian Psychological Society and a Member of the College of Clinical Psychologists. Jillian completed a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Human Psychology at Aston University (UK); a Master of Science in Health Psychology at the University of London (UK) and a Doctorate of Clinical Psychology at Birmingham University (UK).

Jillian has over 20 years of experience in working with children, adolescents and their families in community, inpatient, health and private settings.  Her work has taken her to the UK, South Africa and Australia. As such, Jillian has developed a broad range of experience and extensive skills in assessment, diagnosis, treatment, liaison, supervision, management, research, service development, teaching and she has also published work in scientific journals and developed clinical resources. 

Jillian takes time to listen and understand the challenges that individuals may be facing in a non-judgemental way. She is passionate about helping people to learn about what they value in life; empowering them to use their own strengths to develop practical solutions and adaptive coping strategies.  Treatment will be based upon individual needs, research evidence and will usually require practice of specific skills between sessions.
