Biography

Professor Darrell Crawford is a respected and experienced Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist practising at Mater Private Hospital Redland. 

Prof Crawford completed his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery at The University of Queensland. 

He has held numerous leadership roles including Dean of Medicine at The University of Queensland, president of the Asia-Pacific Association for Study of the Liver and of the Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GESA), and Chair of the Australian Liver Association.  

Prof Crawford was previously the Mayne Professor of Medicine and Associate Dean (Strategic Development) Faculty of Medicine at The University of Queensland. He is currently the Director of Research at the Gallipoli Medical Research Foundation. 

He is an honorary fellow of the American Association for the Study of Liver Disease and the Gastroenterological Society of Australia. He maintains an active clinical research program with over 200 publications and numerous research grants.
